  Shipping sector : ports experience

Our experience of working in partnerships on ports projects spans many decades. Our expertise in both the martime sector and financial issues often plays a crucial role in the success of a project. Recent projects include:

Simon Group Plc.
We acted as auditors and tax advisors to Simon Group, a ports-focused business with operations in the UK.

First Container Terminal, St. Petersburg.
We acted as auditors to FCT, the largest container terminal in St. Petersburg, together with its ancillary port operations.

Ventspils Commercial Port.
We have performed a variety of consulting projects for this major port facility on the Latvian Baltic coast, including audit, valuations, investment advice, corporate structure reviews, due diligence and advisory services in connection with the re-structuring of dry cargo stevedoring companies in Ventspils port.

Port Louis Port, Mauritius.
We were a member of a consortium carrying out a strategic review of the alternatives for the privatisation by trade sale of the Cargo Handling Company. Work covered business plans, financial projections, possible options and deal structures for sale to a trade investor, calculation of added value in each scenario and commercial implications.

Irish Commercial Ports.
We were a participant in a consortium carrying out a review for the Irish Government of the commercial, management and financial performance of six state-owned Irish ports in the context of their independent commercial operation.

Salalah Conventional Port, Oman.
We performed both financial and commercial analysis and provided assistance to the Oman government in negotiating commercial issues in the privatisation of Salalah Conventional Port.  The project was carried out in association with Hyder Consulting.

Armaport, Turkey.
We advised on various issues concerning a proposed investment into the port, together with an audit for tax purposes.

Mombasa Port Container Terminal.
We were appointed to carry out a study into the traffic, facilities and procedures for handling containers, with a view to proposing and planning the implementation of improvements to enable the handling of increased volumes.

East Mediterranean Ports Institute.
We were part of a team reviewing the feasibility of setting up an institute in Cyprus to promote and assist the commercial development and capability of ports in the East Mediterranean. This was an EU funded project.
