Administration - Temporary Maintenance Technician – London

Moore Stephens LLP are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join the administration department on a 8-12 week temporary basis.
 
The purpose of the role will be to work in conjunction with another maintenance technician, being responsible for the building maintenance of the Aldersgate Street and regional offices, assisting with any repairs, renovations and emergencies as requested.
 
Main responsibilities will be as follows (but not limited to):
 
• Carry out maintenance, repair and refurbishment of offices, including tiling, decorating, carpentry and ensure the offices are in safe working order and comply with health and safety regulations
• Assist with ensuring the building is safe following any emergency issues i.e. power failure/flooding and clearing blocked toilets as and when needed
• Check light bulbs are in working order in the main areas, meeting rooms, lift lobbys and staircases and be responsible for changing lights, hanging pictures, making footstools, shelves and bookcases; and other minor repairs and maintenance work, when required
• Assist in moving office furniture, ensuring office moves cause the least disruption, and supervise employees and agency workers with office moves and work out of hours on regional offices refurbishments
• Assist with the office recycling and monitor the recycling storage area three times per week to ensure hazardous waste is stored securely and correctly at all times. Contact recycling company to clear hazardous waste out of normal collection times
• Responsible for the day to day running of the firm’s pool cars, ensure cars are issued/returned in a reasonable state and notify the Director of Administration of any damage made to a pool car
 
To be considered for the role, you will proven experience gained within a similar maintenance position. 
Due to the nature of the role, you will be availability for an immediate start, you will have a flexible approach to work and excellent communication skills.  Experience in the following areas is extremely advantageous, Carpentry, Decorating, electrical, plumbing and tiling.

Administration - Warehouse Assistant - London

 
Moore Stephens LLP is looking to recruit a Warehouse Assistant to join the Administration department.
 
The Administration department looks after the partnership, facilities and administration needs of the firm throughout the UK.
 
The Administration team comprises of the following teams; Caroline Street (Warehouse), Facilities, General Administration, General Office, Maintenance and Switchboard.
 
The purpose of the role is to ensure files and bundles requests are met and files and bundles sent to the warehouse are filed correctly.
 
Typically, responsibilities will be (but not limited to):
 
• Assist with the receipt and issue of files and bundles and ensure requests are picked in a professional and timely manner
• Ensure all files and bundles are filed in the correct area
• Carry out stock takes on all files and bundles as directed by the Warehouse Manager
• Carry out files and bundles destruction on an annual basis
• Complete inventory for all boxes in the warehouse as directed by the Warehouse Manager
• Input file and client information, client codes and bundles information onto the computer system, print email requests for files and/or documents and ensure all file requests are booked in and out and carry out computer searches, when required
• Comply with health and safety regulations at all times and request the assistance of another Storeman if health and safety guidelines cannot be met individually
• Assist with arranging couriers, when required
 
The successful candidate will have previous warehouse experience, be competent in MS office in particular Word and Excel, with the ability to plan and prioritise own workload. Candidates will also have good communication skills (both verbal and written), coupled with good organisational skills.

Moore Stephens LLP are currently recruiting for a Tax Technical Senior Manager to support their Business Tax & Private Client Services departments.
 
The main purpose of this role is to create and lead a technical function focusing on mainstream tax issues to support various client facing departments.  There are specialist areas within the taxation departments, for example shipping and non-domiciliaries, however, it is not envisaged that these areas will require support.  It is also not envisaged that technical support will be provided to the VAT team.
 
The core responsibilities of the role will be to:
 
• Provide advice and solutions to technical tax queries
• Interpret technical matters of varying complexity and communicate this information clearly to the client/audience
• Provide alerts and, if appropriate briefings, to the tax departments and wider firm on HMRC commentary, topical issues, cases, legislative changes etc
• Take responsibility for all tax related fact sheets
• Establish and maintain a tax database containing such matters as Counsels’ opinions, precedents (e.g. corporate residence, how an individual is taxed in the UK etc).
• Liaise with the in-house librarian regarding the tax library, books on screen etc.
 
To be considered for this position you will have demonstrable people management skills with excellent technical knowledge in either business and/or personal tax.  Ideally you will be CTA qualified (or equivalent) or  qualified by experience with strong communication skills (both written and verbal), and have the ability to work under pressure with accuracy and focus.
