Eurostars is a European joint programme, co-funded from the national budgets of 34 EUREKA countries and by the European Union through Horizon 2020. The Eurostars is focused on R&D-performing SMEs that wish to exploit the benefits that come with international collaboration.

Eurostars projects are:
  • transnational;
  • started and led by an SME;
  • involve at least two partners from two different Eurostars participating country;
  • involve at least one other partner from another Eurostars participating country; and
  • last no longer than three years.
Within two years of completion the product of research should be ready for market introduction.

In the UK, each SME participating to the project will be funded up to 60% of eligible costs to a maximum grant level of 360,000 Euros. SMEs must have been registered as a UK company for 12 months, have PAYE staff and been trading for 12 months prior to application. All costs must be incurred in the UK and all work must be carried out in the UK.
