Key strategies for the year ahead

Our research has found strong consistency year-on-year in the strategies that OMBs implement in their businesses. The top two in recent years have been expanding the UK customer base and investing in staff training. These again dominate OMB plans for 2019 – reflecting the drive to increase domestic market share whilst attracting and retaining the best people.

It’s notable too that business leaders are increasingly looking to deal with issues such as succession planning – and ensuring that there is a clear plan for the future of their business going forward. Some OMBs may view this time as good as any to recoup value built up in their business – although others will be holding off until the dust settles post-Brexit.
