Ian is a not-for-profit partner with over 25 years’ experience of working with charities and membership bodies (both charitable and non charitable) that operate nationally and internationally. His work with membership bodies includes Royal Charter Bodies, Learned Societies, Chartered Institutes, Professional Associations, Sports National Governing Bodies, Trade Associations and sector umbrella bodies. Before joining Moore Stephens, Ian led the not-for-profit teams at two Top 10 accounting firms. He has worked as a financial accountant in the sector and, is an independent member of the Audit and Finance Committee of Muscular Dystrophy UK. Ian focuses on audit and financial reporting and understands well the dynamics between executives and non-executives. He has a wide grasp of the many issues and challenges facing the sector, and is passionate about ensuring his clients receive practical and pragmatic advice to help them flourish. He has extensive experience in working with not-for-profit boards, audit and finance committees to help demystify the financial aspects of good governance, ensuring they have a practical overview of their roles and responsibilities.
