Moore Stephens’ rising stars

Two members of Moore Stephens’ Tax Investigations & Disputes team have been identified as rising stars in the field of private client services.
 
Senior managers Matthew Watkins and Davina Boodnah have been named in the male and female Top 35 Under 35 listings for 2017 prepared by eprivateclient. Over 470 individuals from over 70 firms were nominated for the accolade, with the top 35 men and women being selected on a range of criteria, including their activities over the past 12 months. 
 
Both the Moore Stephens’ stars were nominated by Dominic Arnold, Partner and Head of the firm’s Tax Investigations & Disputes team. “Matthew was my first recruit when I moved to Moore Stephens in 2012 to establish a tax investigations and disputes practice,” Dominic says. “He fitted in well from day one and I continue to be impressed with his ability and determination to exceed his client’s expectations. He is someone who assumes responsibilities and does so enthusiastically. As a senior member of my team he is seen as someone that junior colleagues can look up to and seek to follow the high standards which he sets himself. That is one of the highest compliments I can pay to Matthew.”
 
Dominic also has no doubt that Davina deserves to be recognised by her peers and the private client industry at large. “Backed by her CTA and technical knowledge, she is a determined individual who is unfazed by challenges,” he says. “Davina is also good at building rapport with our clients. This helps to strengthen relationships, encouraging loyalty and custom. She holds her own when dealing with sometimes difficult clients – she is patient and remains calm.” Being bilingual in French, Davina is particularly appreciated by French-speaking clients. “Davina also manages to find the time to help others who are less fortunate,” Dominic says. “She actively volunteers for Tax Help for Older People outside office hours.”
 
The Top 35 Under 35 lists are drawn up annually, with nominations open to lawyers, accountants, trustees and other professional intermediaries. The initiative is designed to identify, recognise, introduce and promote the rising stars of the private client professions. As well as celebrating their success at a champagne reception in September, the Top 35 Under 35 men and women will have the opportunity to meet each other at smaller events over the next 12 months, so broadening their personal networks.
