Peterborough office strengthens team with two new partners

Moore Stephens Peterborough is delighted to announce the promotion of Mohamed Mavani and Geoff Norman to the role of partner.  The promotions takes the number of partners at the Peterborough office to seven, with a further five partners at our Corby office.

Dickon Sandbach, Senior Partner said: “I am delighted to announce the promotion of Geoff and Mohamed as partners. Both have made a significant contribution to the firm and have demonstrated their ability to add real value to our business and, more importantly, to our clients.

As the economic recovery gathers pace, businesses in Peterborough are thriving. With significant growth across the region and hundreds of new companies being started in the Peterborough area each year, the demand for high quality business advice is higher than ever.

As one of the leading accounting and business consultancy practices in the region we have ambitious plans for growth.  Mohamed and Geoff will be key players in shaping our business in the future and I look forward to seeing the firm flourish with them as part of the senior management team.”

Geoff began his career at a local practice more than 30 years ago, joining Moore Stephens in 2007 and becoming an Associate in 2011. Extremely well-known in the area, Geoff has a large client base of owner-managed businesses within the food and drink, agri-tech and energy industries and has a proven track record in helping clients unlock their potential for growth.

Mohamed trained with top 10 firm PKF before moving to Peterborough and joining Moore Stephens in 2003. He was promoted to audit manager in 2005 and became an associate at the firm in July 2010.  During his time at Moore Stephens, Mohamed has significantly grown the firm’s portfolio of audit clients and oversaw the seamless introduction of paperless audits as part of the move to the International Standards of Auditing.
In his role as partner, Mohamed will continue to expand the firm’s audit department, as well as developing the firm’s due diligence and transactional support services.
Commenting on his appointment, Geoff said: “I have had an enjoyable journey through my accountancy life and have had the privilege to work with some great colleagues and inspiring and characterful clients.

"My goal is to continue working closely with clients and challenging them to fulfil their own and their business aspirations whilst retaining an element of fun.”

Mohamed added: “I am really proud to have been invited to become partner.  Moore Stephens is a great place to work and I look forward to the exciting challenges ahead.”
