Moore Stephens Corporate Finance advises on the merger of Anglo-Eastern and Univan

Moore Stephens, the leading advisor to the shipping industry, advised Univan on its merger with Anglo-Eastern. This merger unites two of the most respected companies in the sector and creates one of the world’s largest independent shipping managers. Moore Stephens provided financial and taxation due diligence services, specialist pension advice and lead advisory services.

The combined group, trading from 14 August 2015 as Anglo-Eastern Univan Group, will be responsible for more than 1,700 shore-based staff, 24,000 seafarers, 600 ships under full management and crew management for a further 100 vessels.

Univan and Anglo-Eastern were founded in 1973 and 1974 respectively and provide a broad range of independent third party ship management services including technical ship management, crew management, yacht management and offshore services.

The transaction was led by Phil Cowan, Head of Corporate Finance at Moore Stephens.  Phil commented: “This combination is a milestone transaction and brings together two of the best known players in the industry. I wish them every success for the future.”
