OpCost

OpCost is a unique benchmarking tool for all major vessels' operating costs, currently covering 25 vessel types. The report, which is exclusive to Moore Stephens LLP, provides you with the information to benchmark your vessels' operating costs with the industry average and identify cost saving areas. This information may also be of value for other purposes such as business plans, budget planning and transfer pricing studies.

We are now collecting data for the 2010 OpCost report (published September 2010).

If you would like to submit data for OpCost 2010 (data for the year ended 31 December 2009) please complete either the form or spreadsheet below and email to opcost@moorestephens.com. The cut off date for data submission has now been extended to 30 July 2010.

Also attached below are the definitions of cost categories should they be required

We are hoping to expand the number of vessel types covered in the 2010 report. However, this can only be achieved if the number of vessels used in the report is increased. This year we aspire to include categories for offshore vessels, as well as more LPG sizes and larger Container Ships (above 4,000 TEU). Therefore, in particular, we are looking for data contributions from owners and operators of these vessel types.

If you submit fleet operating cost information that is suitable for entry into the OpCost database you will receive a FREE copy of the 2010 OpCost report. If you submit less than one third of your fleet, or six or fewer vessels, you will receive the report for US$500.

Any orders not falling into the above categories will be charged US$950.

To qualify for entry into the database, vessels must have been trading for 320 days or more annually, unless they have been through a class required drydock during the year.

Any data sent to us will be treated as strictly confidential and all submissions will remain anonymous, and will not be available to individuals outside the Shipping Industry Group of Moore Stephens. We must emphasise that our primary aim in producing OpCost is to provide a service that, in our experience, is unique in the shipping industry.
